How to make a Christmas wish list
- Add your wishes
Paste a link from any online store. WishFinch fills in the name, price and picture when the store shares them, and otherwise takes the name from the link. No link? Just type it: "a good book about space" works too.
- Share one link
Send it by text, email or the family chat. People open it in their browser. Nobody installs anything or makes an account.
- They reserve, you don't peek
Givers tap "I'll get this", and everyone else sees that item as taken. Your edit page never shows what's reserved, so Christmas morning still has surprises.
Tips for a list people can actually use
- Mix the prices. Put a few small things next to the big ones, so everyone can find something in their budget.
- Be specific. Size, color and model go in the note. "Size 8, any color but gray" saves a return.
- Link the exact item. A link to the product page beats "a nice scarf." Givers can still buy it elsewhere.
- Put favorites on top. Use the arrows to move what you want most to the top of the list.
- Aim for 10 to 20 wishes. Enough to choose from, few enough that the list stays a wishlist and not a catalog.
Why families use WishFinch
Many wishlist apps ask every giver to sign up. WishFinch doesn't, so Grandma can reserve a gift straight from a text message.
Any store
Amazon, Walmart, Target, a small shop, a local bakery's website. If it has a link, it can go on your list.
No address needed
WishFinch never asks for your home address. Givers buy from the store and hand over the gift the usual way. Moving from Amazon? See why your address matters there now.
Print it
Turn your list into a classic list or a Dear Santa letter with a QR code back to the links. Or start from a blank printable template.
Add from your phone
On Android, add WishFinch to your home screen from Chrome, and it shows up in the share menu of your browser and shopping apps. On iPhone, copy the product's link and paste it into your list.
Making a list with your kids
Sit down together and add what they ask for, with links where you have them. Then print it as a Dear Santa letter: their wishes in handwriting-style letters and a line to sign. The printout has a QR code, so grandparents can open the online list, see the links and reserve a gift.

Questions
Do I or my family need an account?
No. You get a private link to edit your list, and a separate link to share. Whoever opens the shared link can see the list and reserve gifts without signing up.
Will I see who reserved what?
No. Your edit page never shows reservations. If you open the shared link in the browser you made the list in, reservations stay hidden there too. On another device the shared link shows what's taken, like it does for givers, so don't peek from there.
How do I make a Christmas list with links?
Copy the product's address from any online store and paste it into your list. WishFinch fills in the name, price and picture when the store's page provides them. Some stores don't, and then WishFinch takes the name from the link, or you type it yourself. The link still goes on the list.
Can everyone in the family have a list?
Yes. Each person makes their own list and shares its link in the family chat. Givers can reserve from all of them.
Can kids make a list for Santa?
Yes. Make the list together, then print it as a Dear Santa letter. The printout has a QR code, so grandparents can open the online version with links.
How do I get back to my list later?
This browser remembers it under My lists. To open it on another device, email yourself the private link from your list's page.
Is it free?
Yes. Making, sharing and printing lists is free. A list can hold up to 200 wishes.
